Bordeaux, France — April 29th, 2014 — Showcasing the high quality and versatility of the Sauvignon Blanc grape, the fifth edition of the Concours Mondial du Sauvignon took place from April 11th to 13th in the heart of the vineyards on the right bank of Bordeaux. Hosted by Planet Bordeaux, aka the Bordeaux & Bordeaux Supérieur Winemakers’ Association, the competition welcomed 750 entries submitted from 22 countries, including four new participants: Japan, Slovenia, Turkey and the United States.
A jury composed of 64 wine professionals from 12 different countries (enologists, sommeliers, winemakers, journalists…) rewarded the best wines with silver and gold medal.

For the first time this year, Planet Bordeaux invited wine experts and consumers to taste the medal-winning Bordeaux wines at the CIVB Wine Bar in Bordeaux on the 14th of April 2014.
