Château Bonnet Réserve will be the first wine of our next Twitter tasting, and purchase which will take place on Friday, November 16th. This time, we’ll be tasting six red wines, one Bordeaux AOC and five Bordeaux Supérieurs.
Château Bonnet Réserve is a Bordeaux AOC produced by the legendary André Lurton. Retailing in the States for about $12, it’s 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, and was awarded a Bronze Medal at the 2012 Los Angeles International Wine Competition.
Great for pairing with poultry as well as red meat, as recommended in the March 2012 edition of Family Circle Magazine (see below):
The article mentions the 2007 Château Bonnet, but we’ll be tasting the 2009, which is more structured and voluptuous, with velvety red fruit and a touch of fresh mint.
Stay tuned for more info on the other wines, and see you on November 16th!
