Three Apps Not-To-Be-Missed for Bordeaux Wine & Tourism


Bordeaux is recognized for its wines but also as an incredible tourist region. Here are three apps that will give you insight into the wines and region of Bordeaux.

Smart Bordeaux focuses exclusively on Bordeaux wines and Vivino brings you tasting notes on a wide array of wines from Bordeaux. Bordeaux Wine Trip makes travel in Bordeaux wine country easy and allows you to prepare for an unforgettable trip.


Capture3Smart Bordeaux: available on i-tunes and Android, this app was created by the CIVB (Bordeaux Wine Council) in 2010. This tool allows you to discover the wines of Bordeaux by scanning the label, the barcode or you can search by name. With wines exclusively from Bordeaux, this app gives extensive information about the winemakers, terroir, blend, tasting notes, and history of the families and châteaux, with links to Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.

The Smart Bordeaux community updates the database daily.


CaptureVivino: Wines from different regions of the world, with many from Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur AOCs. Simply take a photo of the label and Vivino will find the reference: tasting notes, food and wine pairing, terroir, blend, prices etc.

Created in 2009 by a Danish society, this app is update every day thanks to the vivino’s community. Available on Android, I-Tunes and Marketplace (windows phone)
